Introduction
The Goods and Services Identification Number (GSIN) is used by the federal government to identify generic product descriptions for its procurement activities. GSIN data also connects to the procurement division responsible for the procurement of a good or service.
Coming in 2020, the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC) will replace GSIN codes. There is no immediate impact to businesses or government buyers.
GSIN data are available in Comma Separated Values (CSV) file format and can be downloaded to sort, filter, and search information.
