Buyandsell.gc.ca is a new open information service giving businesses easy access to Government of Canada opportunities free of charge and without registering.
The opportunities posted on Buyandsell.gc.ca are easy to find using simple and familiar search methods. You can access all listed tenders, bookmark and share searches, create web feeds and suscribe to the email notifications service to receive updates and download an unlimited number of opportunities.
Buyandsell.gc.ca is the Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS) where the Government of Canada posts bid solicitations (or tenders) and allows suppliers to search for bid opportunities on-line. Buyandsell.gc.ca is the official site for Canada to meet its trade agreement obligations and the authoritative source for Government of Canada tenders.
No registration and no fee
Any visitor can access Buyandsell.gc.ca free of charge and without restrictions, including access to all Government of Canada tender notices and information on previously awarded contracts by Public Works and Government Services Canada and businesses that are pre-qualified by PWGSC to supply to the Government of Canada. Buyandsell.gc.ca’s procurement information on tenders, previous contract holders and pre-qualified suppliers is all interlinked through the Government of Canada’s Goods and Services Identification Number (GSIN) code. Every procurement from start to finish is categorized using a GSIN, giving you the opportunity to examine all aspects of the procurement of goods and services by the Government of Canada. List of Interested Suppliers
The List of Interested Suppliers (LIS) is an online service that allows businesses to optionally join and publicly signal their interest in an active Government of Canada tender notice. The LIS allows businesses to add their company name and contact information to a publicly available list of parties who have expressed an interest in a particular tender published on Buyandsell.gc.ca.

Buyandsell.gc.ca commitment to open data advances the Government of Canada’s Action Plan on Open Government and the Red Tape Reduction Plan by empowering citizens to participate in government through information sharing.
Buyandsell.gc.ca is an open service and can be accessed anonymously without the need to register, free of charge, and with the right to distribute or republish on another Web site.
Get email notifications
You can subscribe to email notifications for search results or tender notices with the Buyandsell.gc.ca email notification service.
For search results, you will receive an email notification whenever an item that matches your keywords and/or filters is published, or updated or amended.
For tender notices, you can subscribe to only the tender notice, or a tender notice and its related procurement items:
- When you subscribe to a specific tender notice, you will receive email notifications for amendments and updates to that notice.
- When you subscribe to a tender notice and related procurement items, you will also receive email notifications for newly published and updated related tender notices, award notices and Standing Offers and Supply Arrangements notices.

Create a web feed
Buyandsell.gc.ca also provides web feeds that you can use to keep yourself informed of new opportunities or updates. Select the RSS feed icon or the Atom feed icon to create a subscription to the search parameters you have specified or to a specific tender of interest.

Tenders publishing schedule
Buyandsell.gc.ca publishes new Government of Canada tender notices, award notices, and amendments every night after midnight ET and provides support every working day except public holidays observed by the federal government. Tenders are still published but there is reduced support during Quebec’s statutory holidays.
Buyandsell.gc.ca Web site undergoes a yearly maintenance service. Web site users are given advance notice of scheduled service interruptions.

Commercial and non-profit uses of data feeds
Anyone can access Buyandsell.gc.ca free of charge for commercial and non-profit redistribution.
Businesses, professional associations and the general public can use Buyandsell.gc.ca open data and republish Government of Canada tendering opportunities.
The feeds will provide links back to Buyandsell.gc.ca where the actual tender documents are published.
Open Data Licence
The following datasets are provided to users as open procurement data and the rules governing the use of this information are specified in the Government of Canada Open Data Licence Agreement.

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), on behalf of the Government of Canada, is making available to site users the option to receive email notifications when content is published or updated on Buyandsell.gc.ca. To learn how to sign up to receive email notifications, visit the Follow Opportunities page.
A subscription to the email notification service does not replace or affect the tendering procedures in place for the procurement. Businesses are still required to respond to bid solicitations and to compete based on established bid criteria. PSPC makes no representations about the accuracy of the information contained in the email notifications, which is delivered to users by a third party email service provider. PSPC is not responsible for the re-use of information contained in the email notifications by other external organizations or entities.
PSPC is not responsible for emails not being delivered to users by their email provider or being flagged as spam. If users use a spam filter, they should configure it to allow messages from the following email address: Achatsetventes.Buyingandselling [at] tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca. Users should always refer directly to Buyandsell.gc.ca, the authoritative and first source for Government of Canada tenders.
Language of email notifications
The language of the emails received is dependent upon the language of the page the user is subscribing to. For example, if a user is subscribing to a tender notice or a search result in the English language, the subscription form and subsequent email notifications will be in the English language as well. Tender notice and related procurement items subscription: notification schedule:
Email notifications for changes made to a tender notice through an amendment or change in publication status are sent immediately.
Email notifications for newly created and updated related tender notices, award notices, and SOSA records will be sent twice per day:
- The first email notification is at 06:30 AM Eastern Time (ET). It contains updates or amendments that were made overnight.
- The second email notification is after 8:30 PM ET. It contains any updates made after 06:30 AM ET.

- The first email notification is at 06:30 AM ET. It contains updates or amendments that were made overnight.
- The second email notification is after 8:30 PM ET. It contains any updates made after 06:30 AM ET.
Unsubscibing from the email notification service
There are two ways you can unsubscribe:
- Click the unsubscribe link in one of the emails you've received for that subscription.
- Check the box for that subscription on the Subscription Management page, and click the Unsubscribe button. You can unsubscribe from multiple subscriptions at the same time on this page.

Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), on behalf of the Government of Canada, is making available to businesses the ability to optionally self-identify their interest in a specific tender notice through the List of Interested Suppliers (LIS). Businesses can provide their contact information to signal to other businesses their interest in a specific active tender notice on Buyandsell.gc.ca. Their contact information is published on the associated LIS and is available publicly to any individual who visits Buyandsell.gc.ca.
The LIS service is only available on Buyandsell.gc.ca and only reflects the interest of suppliers who have viewed tenders on this site. A LIS does not capture any expressed interest by suppliers who may have viewed the Government of Canada tender as redistributed information by a third-party service provider (such as MERX, biddingo, etc.). A LIS does not form part of the official tender solicitation package, and therefore is not available as part of the open tender data file. Once the tender closing date has passed, the LIS is closed but will still remain visible for reference. No new contacts can be added to or removed from the LIS for an expired tender notice. The LIS will be unpublished when the tender notice is archived (i.e. the tender is cancelled or awarded).

Participation in the List of Interested Suppliers
PWGSC, on behalf of the Government of Canada, manages the List of Interested Suppliers and considers free self-identifying on the LIS an opportunity for businesses to increase networking or partnering opportunities. Participation in the LIS for each individual tender notice is open to all businesses, subject to the limitations set out below:
- PWGSC reserves the right to exclude from the LIS businesses that provide or are likely to provide sexually exploitative or sexually explicit entertainment, products or services;
- PWGSC reserves the right to exclude businesses that market products or services that are illegal or restrained by court order (e.g., court order regarding the right of a company to use a trademark);
- PWGSC reserves the right to exclude or to remove from the LIS businesses that misrepresent the company name or first and last name fields and / or include superfluous marketing material; and
- PWGSC reserves the right to exclude or to remove from the LIS businesses that may be or whose activities may be inconsistent with or in non-compliance with federal or provincial legislation, policies or programs.
The self-identified businesses acknowledge and agree that PWGSC reserves the right to remove a business from the LIS at PWGSC sole discretion and without notice.
Requesting removal from the List of Interested Suppliers
Businesses may only request that their business name and contact information be removed from the LIS while the associated tender is "active". Once the tender closing date has passed, the LIS is closed but will still remain visible for reference. No new contacts can be added to or removed from the LIS for an expired tender notice. Once the associated tender has been "cancelled" or is "awarded", businesses may not be removed from the LIS. The LIS will be unpublished when the tender notice is archived (i.e. the tender is cancelled or awarded). Archived information cannot be altered or updated according to Government of Canada standards.
Businesses complete an online form to submit their information to join the LIS for a specific tender. When the form is submitted businesses receive a confirmation email containing a link to verify their email and to publish their information on the LIS for a specific tender. This email also contains a link that businesses use to remove their name from the LIS. Businesses are advised to retain this email should they wish to remove their name from the LIS at a later date.
If businesses no longer have the original confirmation email, they should contact the OSME-SE national InfoLine at 1-800-811-1148. The line is staffed Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 17:00 Eastern Standard time.
Accuracy of information
The information is provided by businesses on a voluntary basis. PWGSC is not responsible for the accuracy or the reliability of the contents contained in any of the LIS. The accuracy and reliability of the information contained in an active LIS are the sole responsibility of the self-identified businesses. It is the responsibility of the business to ensure the accuracy of their contact information contained in an active LIS.
To update contact information on an active LIS for a specific active tender, businesses must remove their existing record and use the online submission form to create a new record with the new information.

Businesses voluntarily add their contact and social media network information on the LIS to signal their interest in a specific tender notice to other businesses. The LIS is provided solely for the convenience of businesses who may wish to contact other businesses who have expressed an interest in a specific tender.
PWGSC does not offer any guarantee in that regard, or any other regards, and is not responsible for the information found through these links, nor does it endorse businesses that are found on any LIS, nor does it take any responsibility for the re-use of the information by any organisation or entity.
