The Contractor must ensure that welding is performed by a welder certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau(CWB) for the following Canadian Standards Association(CSA) standard(s):
Instruction to contracting officers: insert a. or b. or both as applicable.
- CSA W47.1 (current version), Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Steel ______ (insert division level);
- CSA W47.2 (current version), Certification of Companies for Fusion Welding of Aluminum _____ (insert division level).
- In addition, welding must be done in accordance with the requirements of the applicable drawings and specifications.
- Before the commencement of any fabrication work, and upon request from the (insert "Inspection Authority" or "Project Authority" or "Technical Authority"), the Contractor must provide approved welding procedures and/or a list of welding personnel they intend to use in the performance of the Work. The list must identify the CWB welding procedure qualifications attained by each of the personnel listed and must be accompanied by a copy of each person's current CWB certification to CSA welding standards.
