The qualification list will expire within 60 days or upon award of a contract in Phase Two, whichever is earlier, and the prequalification list will not be used in any other solicitation. Bids must be submitted using the CPC connect service. The solicitation number must be identified in the CPC Connect message field of all electronic transfers. Further instruction is provided in the Invitation to Qualify document. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has a requirement for removal and replacement of the existing landing at Green Island (Fortune Bay), Newfoundland and Labrador. The work under this project consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material to perform the work. In general, work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: .1 Demolition, removal and disposal of the existing landing. All demolition debris (timber, concrete, etc.) is to be removed from the Island and disposed of at a Provincially approved waste site. An underwater diving video is to be submitted to the Departmental Representative confirming that all existing infrastructure has been removed, prior to initiating new work activities. .2 Supply and installation of a new landing. New landing consists of treated timber cribwork complete with treated timber decking, untreated timber runners, treated timber railing, treated timber beams, and a concrete toe (pinned to the bedrock using drilled anchors). .3 Repairs to the existing winch system, including but not limited to new exhaust pipe, wall thimble, and cable (see Section 26 32 13.02 - Exhaust System). .4 Preparation of the ground surface for the installation of new flat bottom cribs (includes busting rock where required to achieve design elevation). .5 Construction of a temporary work platform to meet regulatory requirements associated with not having equipment and materials laid directly on the ground surface. Temporary work platform to be removed at project completion. No equipment is permitted to travel over any areas of vegetation. See DWG C7 of 7 for requirements. FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply. Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site are to take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
