Description
The objective of this requirement is to obtain the services of a Contractor to undertake a cost-benefit analysis of plain packaging of tobacco products.
The Tobacco Control Directorate (TCD) is responsible for the administration of the Tobacco Act, which regulates the manufacture, sale, labeling and promotion of tobacco products in order to protect Canadians, especially young people, from the health consequences of tobacco use. Some of the activities undertaken by the organization include developing regulations under the Tobacco Act and monitoring industry compliance with the Tobacco Act and Regulations.
As part of this work, the TCD would like to study the impact of changing the packaging of tobacco products.
TCD requires the services of a specialist to undertake a cost-benefit analysis on the impact of introducing plain packaging requirements for tobacco products, similar to those in Australia and the United Kingdom.
