The three key objectives of the DPS are to: deliver the right equipment to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Canadian Coast Guard in a timely manner; leverage our purchases of defence equipment to create jobs and economic growth in Canada; and streamline defence procurement processes. As Minister Finley noted in her announcement, it is important to ensure that industry stakeholders are informed about the Strategy and its implementation and are able to provide input. DPS information sessions will provide an opportunity for industry stakeholders to obtain additional details on the Strategy, to provide their feedback and have their questions answered by senior Government officials from Public Works and Government Services Canada, National Defence and Industry Canada.
