What bidders should do during a Canada Post mail service disruption

October 29, 2018 – Gatineau - Canada Post Corporation (CPC) mail service is currently being affected by rotating strikes. In light of the interruption in mail service, bidders should refer to the solicitation document for the opportunity on which they intend to bid in order to identify alternative ways to submit their bids on time. These may include electronic submission through epost Connect, in-person delivery, delivery by private courier or submission by facsimile.

Important: If your bid was sent using CPC services, and you can prove the delay is due solely to a delay in delivery that can be attributed to the CPC, and you have evidence relating to a delay that clearly indicates that the bid was sent before the solicitation closing date, you are encouraged to contact the Contracting Authority responsible for the bid solicitation. For details, see Section 07 (2012-03-02) Delayed bids in the Standard Instructions - Goods or Services - Competitive Requirements of the Standard Acquisition Clauses and Conditions (SACC).

For further information regarding acceptable alternative methods for submitting a bid, please contact the Contracting Authority responsible for the bid solicitation.
