Update on the implementation of the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code

February 23, 2018 – Gatineau – The date for the implementation of the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC) that was originally set for April 1, 2017 by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) was delayed. Please note that all departments must delay the implementation of UNSPSC, as the April 1 2017 implementation date is no longer in effect.

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is currently working in collaboration with TBS to revise its implementation strategy for UNSPSC. An updated release date will be communicated as soon as it is announced by TBS.

Updates on Buyandsell.gc.ca

In advance of communication from TBS of a new official implementation date, Buyandsell.gc.ca has updated all references to the UNSPSC from 2017 to 2019 on the website. Please note: the official date for the implementation of the UNSPSC will be communicated on Buyandsell.gc.ca once it has been announced by TBS.

Important Information
