The Canadian Free Trade Agreement coming July 1, 2017

Attention: The Government Procurement provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) continue to apply until the recently announced United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is ratified and enters into force. More information about the USMCA will be provided in the coming weeks.

June 21, 2017 – Gatineau – The Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) will come into force on July 1, 2017 – Canada’s 150th birthday.  It will replace the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT). 

A policy notification with changes to the Supply Manual and Standard Acquisition Clauses and Conditions (SACC) Manual will follow.
