Deploy a customized, off the shelf cloud-based software-as-a-service platform to support a rapid data capture and reporting environment for fish health data by March 31, 2021. The platform will be required to capture and manage data from a variety of sources to be used for operational activities including data integration and real-time capture of complete field data, syndromic surveillance, epidemiological analysis and to support informed and timely decision making.

The project, once completed, will allow for epidemiological analysis work to be conducted on an area by area scale to support Area Based Management, and test and compare effects and impacts in different areas managed by DFO Aquaculture. Using a software-as-a-service platform will allow for rapid testing and exploration of new methods. The proposed system will be on the cutting edge of epidemiology in the world and would provide the Department with world-class epidemiological analysis capacity.
