Description
Subsequent to the competitive procurement process number 9F052-18-0865 relative to the development of concepts for robotic interfaces to be used as part of the ‘’Deep Space Exploration Robotics’’ initiative or ‘’DSXR’’, Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), (also referred to as ‘’Public Services and Procurement Canada’’ (‘’PSPC’’)), on behalf of the Canadian Space Agency (''CSA'') (the ''end-customer'' ), is announcing the award of two contracts to have two new separate robotic interfaces concepts developed:
- A first contract, numbered 9F052-18-0865/001/SY, worth 3,292,136.66 Canadian dollars (inclusive of applicable sales taxes) which relates to the development of robotic interfaces for the ‘’exploration large arm’’ or ‘’XLA’’;
-and-
- a second contract, numbered 9F052-18-0865/002/SY, worth 4,598,971.26 Canadian dollars (inclusive of applicable sales taxes) which relates to the development of robotic interfaces for the ‘’exploration dexterous arm’’ or ‘’XDA’’.
Both contracts, which have a combined value of 7,891,107.92 Canadian dollars (inclusive of applicable sales taxes), have been awarded to the same corporation: MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Inc. of Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
The development of these two concepts is qualified by the CSA as ‘’Phase A’’ work. Work carried under the Phase ‘’A’’ aims at defining the systems requirements. It includes concept and technology development activities.
